Control Establishment

CPE routinely performs control establishment and stakeout surveys in support of construction and other survey activities. CPE will establish control monuments in areas where no published monuments are available. CPE has set geodetic survey control in several locations in the United States and the Bahamas using static GPS methods with bench loop verification. Dual Frequency GPS static sessions are the preferred method of setting geodetic control. Utilizing National Geodetic Survey (NGS) Continually Operating Reference Stations (CORS) newly established control monuments can be tied into the national high accuracy network regardless of baseline length. CPE also performs construction stakeout survey involving beach and dune nourishment projects. Stakeout surveys of this type are a vital part of any nourishment project as it sets the limits and grade of fill being placed.
