CPE Marine Science & Biological Research Department professionals are highly recognized within various disciplines of the scientific community and dedicated to habitat conservation. Scientifically based habitat resource characterization and monitoring programs, developed in conjunction with the regulatory agencies, provide the basis for verifiable and well-founded project assessments. Critical to scientifically defensible resource evaluation is the experience of CPE's biologists in developing focused, hypotheses-based monitoring plans; accurately identifying and classifying biota and habitat types; utilizing existing, or developing new, assessment methods appropriate for the resource; and conducting rigorous statistical analyses. CPE's marine biologists are all professional scientific divers and members of the American Academy of Underwater Sciences. Our biologists undergo extensive training in data collection methods as well as various analytical techniques designed to allow our clients to obtain permits and satisfy permit conditions required by the regulatory agencies.
