Renourishment was completed on Captiva Island over
the New Years Holiday
Construction is moving on to complete northern Sanibel Island segment
in the next few weeks.
Captiva Island is located on the lower western peninsula coast of
Florida. Captiva Island is a barrier island separated from the main

The project for Sanibel will place fill along the northern 6,000 feet
of shoreline. The project will incorporate a county park at Bowmans
Beach. The total project volume for Captiva and Sanibel Islands is
1,020,000 cy and 305,000 cy respectively. The Captiva segment was completed
over the New Years holiday weekend.
